I particularly like monochrome (black and white) images, because they rely on textures and tones more than colour images do.
Monochromes can also have a one colour tone or tint through the image, such as
sepia toning, cyanotype etc to give a one tone tint to the image
Not all images portray at their best in monochrome.
Portraits tend to.
Anything old also tends to.
Landscapes with dramatic sky's and toned and textured elements are often best portrayed in monochrome.
I will show you some of my monochromes.
The monochromes are the ones that I have received an award in at my local Macarthur Photographic Societies photo competitions.
These images, are the ones that I received a distinction in, in our competitions.
The images are displayed at their best when you look at the actual print. Digital does not have the same impact.
My name is Bruce Wallace and this is a blog for all things photographic.
